The first day of summer here in sunny San Diego started off well....gloomy, but now the sun is shinning, the birds are chirping and the breeze is blowing. The lovely summer months remind me of thin cottons, white, pops of color, and this season, the sun hat. This season I'm so excited because the sun hat's being seen out and about and on the beach this year are hats that would be found no other place than the Del Mar Racetrack. Hats as extravagant as those seen at t he royal wedding have still no made their way to the states, at least not to the shores of southern California.
When choosing a hat that is right for you, make sure not to ignore your own style, but have some fun with it! This season, my favorite is the big floppy beach hat. Not only is it flattering on everyone, but it protects your face from the sun (make sure to still wear sunblock though).
These are some other options!

Some may delight over fashion to entertain their social status or ostentatious personality. Some love fashion to portray to the world the way they want to be seen. I have to say that I love fashion for the way it makes me feel, and let's face it, its fun! Everyone loves to feel beautiful and have fun, I know I do, and I believe that fashion helps me to feel that way. I used to long to be a fashion designer, but in the end, I didn't have the passion to be a designer...only to wear designer's clothes.
Passion, defined as a strong amorous feeling or desire is what designers hold. They have a passion for their designs and wish to share them with the world. To each his own of course, because each designer has their own unique taste. Vera Wang says, "It's a calling. Like being a musician. I mean, the hours of practice, the loneliness, the dedication..."

Beauty can be subjective when it comes to fashion. This blog is dedicated to what I find beautiful. I have loved fashion my whole life...of course I too have been plagued with the fashion mishaps of elementary school...junior high...high school...and...well...I will still mess up....occasionally. At least I like to believe it happens occasionally. Nonetheless, I want to share great fashion that I come across on a day to day basis.Whether that be in an obscure boutique in Ocean Beach, or an cute boutique nestled in downtown San Diego.
Since I am still young and will be graduating from college in about 31 days to be exact, I do not have a lot of discretionary income, none at all actually, I can't really afford to purchase Dolce and Gabbana jackets, BCBG Max Azria dresses or Chanel purses. Therefore, I, along with many other college students and recent grads, chose to purchase items that don't come with such an heavy price tag. Don't get me wrong, I would love to have the gallivant through the fantastic wardrobes of Blair Waldorf and Serena Van der Woodsen, but since that is not possible, I will have to make due, which can sometimes be even more fun :)
My first post will be dedicated to the warmth of summer and the love of color that summer brings.
